Tiger Sand Snail

The Tiger Sand Snail (Nassarius distortus) is one of the hardest-working clean-up crew members you can add to a saltwater tank. With its distinctive striped shell and a long siphon that pokes up through the substrate, this little snail spends its life burrowed in the sand bed — emerging instantly the moment food hits the water.
Tiger Sand Snails are exceptional detritivores and scavengers. They consume leftover food, decaying matter, and waste before it can pollute your system, while constantly tunneling through the sand to keep it aerated and clean. A healthy sand bed depends on critters like these.
Completely reef-safe, peaceful, and beginner-friendly. Recommended at 1 snail per 2-3 gallons for established systems with sand substrate.
At Ocean To You, every invertebrate is inspected and acclimated before sale. We don't sell sick livestock.
