Epaulette Shark (Hemiscyllium ocellatum)

Why it is a Collector's Vault fish: The Epaulette Shark is a small bottom-dwelling shark from Australia that "walks" across the reef on its fins, and is named for the large black spot behind each pectoral fin. It is collected under Australia's licensed fishery and shipped one at a time in large bags, which adds significant freight cost. It is one of the few sharks that can live long term in a large home aquarium.
