The Yellow Watchman Goby (Cryptocentrus cinctus) is one of the most charming and beginner-friendly reef gobies in the saltwater hobby. Bright lemon-yellow from head to tail with subtle blue speckling across the face, this stocky little goby spends its day perched on rockwork or sand, scanning the tank with big curious eyes — the "watchman" name fits perfectly.
Famous for forming symbiotic partnerships with pistol shrimp, the Yellow Watchman is one of the few saltwater fish you can pair with an invertebrate buddy for a genuinely fascinating tank dynamic. The shrimp digs and maintains the burrow while the goby stands guard and warns of predators — a living relationship right in your reef.
Hardy, reef-safe, peaceful with most tankmates, and full of personality. A perfect first goby for nano reefs and a long-time favorite for established systems alike.
At Ocean To You, every fish is quarantined and observed before sale. We don't sell sick fish.
