Borbonius Anthias - Blotchy Anthias (Odontanthias borbonius)

Why it is a Collector's Vault fish: The Borbonius Anthias usually lives between 600 and 900 feet deep, and is only occasionally found as shallow as 240 feet. Collecting fish from that depth takes specialized deep diving and slow decompression so the fish arrive healthy, which is why it is seen so rarely and so little is known about it in the wild. Its yellow-and-pink checkerboard pattern and long trailing fins make it a true collector's fish.
