The Naso Tang (Naso lituratus) is one of the most majestic and rewarding tangs in the saltwater hobby — a true centerpiece fish for large reef and FOWLR systems. Smoky gray-tan body with striking yellow and orange facial markings, a black "mask" running through the eye, and as adults, two trailing streamers extending from the tail that flow gracefully behind them as they swim.
Naso Tangs are exceptionally active, strong swimmers that need serious open swimming room. They're peaceful with most tankmates, including other tangs in large enough systems, and graze constantly on macroalgae — making them one of the best fish for controlling bryopsis and other tough nuisance algae.
Tank requirements: Due to their adult size (up to 18 inches) and constant swimming, Naso Tangs require a minimum of 180 gallons, with 220+ strongly preferred. A wide tank footprint matters more than depth — they need horizontal swimming distance.
Hardy, beautiful, peaceful, and full of personality. A signature fish for any large reef.
At Ocean To You, every fish is quarantined and observed before sale. We don't sell sick fish.
