The Orange Green Birdsnest (Seriatopora hystrix) is one of the most rewarding entry-to-mid level SPS corals in the hobby. This morph features a warm orange-tan base with bright green polyp extension that contrasts beautifully under blue-heavy reef spectrum lighting. Each frag is cut to order from our healthy mother colony, fully healed, mounted to a frag plug, and observed for tissue growth before shipping.
Birdsnest is widely loved for its delicate, finely-branched structure that adds intricate texture to any reef. Seriatopora is one of the fastest-growing SPS corals in the hobby — a 1" frag can become a 3-4" branching colony within 12 months under good conditions. Its rapid growth and forgiving nature make it an excellent stepping-stone for hobbyists transitioning from LPS into SPS keeping.
Place in medium to high lighting (PAR 150-300) and moderate to strong flow. Maintain stable alkalinity (8-9 dKH), calcium (420-450 ppm), and magnesium (1350-1450 ppm). Birdsnest is sensitive to sudden parameter swings — slowly acclimate to new lighting over 1-2 weeks.
