Most haddonis sold retail in the 4 to 8 inch range, making a fully established 15" Ruby Red specimen a true collector and clownfish-breeder grade piece.

The Ruby Red color designation reserved for the most saturated, jewel-tone red specimens — this anemone displays the signature deep crimson-red oral disc densely packed with the short, bead-like tentacles that earned the carpet anemone its name. Healthy, fully expanded, and feeding aggressively, the photo shows the anemone in its natural display posture, anchored in sand with the foot fully buried for stability. Ruby Red carpets are highly sought after as host anemones for premium clownfish species including Saddleback (A. polymnus), Clarkii (A. clarkii), Sebae (A. sebae), Black Ocellaris, and many others.

Haddoni carpets require a mature, established aquarium with strong lighting, moderate flow, and a deep sand bed of at least 3 inches for the foot to bury and anchor. They are aggressive predators with a potent sting that can capture and consume small fish, shrimp, and other inverts — do not house with anything small enough to be eaten. They will also sting other anemones and corals within reach, so allow at least 12 inches of clearance around the animal. Feed weekly with large meaty foods like silversides, krill, or chunks of fresh seafood. Caution: the sting is strong enough to cause severe skin reactions in some humans — handle with gloves.
