Why it is a Collector's Vault fish: The Sakura Anthias comes from deep, cool rocky reefs in the northwest Pacific around Japan, Korea and Taiwan, and is named for its cherry-blossom pink to red color. Males develop pearly white spots along the sides and long tail filaments. Because it lives deep and in cooler water, it is collected in small numbers and seldom seen in the trade.
